April 12, 2012 — In one of the most glorious affairs in Literary Death Match history, countless stars were on display at Busby's East, as a wild and winding night finished with DERRICK Comedy's DC Pierson outlasting co-finalist and YA mastermind Cecil Castellucci in a nip-tuck, 3-frame Literary Bowling affair that ended 18-14 winning Pierson the Literary Death Match LA, Ep. 7 crown.

NYC, Ep. 20

November 19, 2009 — A night of humor high and low, literary and slapstick, LDM NYC, Ep. 20 also brought on the release of Opium9: The Mania Issue. After inviting the audience into the world of her absurdist imagination with a series of vignettes, Edith Zimmerman was thrust into absurdity of the Opium variety. She met the challenge, rising victorious over co-finalist Jon Friedman (The Rejection Show) in a tie-breaking Nerf-machine-gun assault on visual artist James J. Williams III.

NYC, Ep. 11

November 11, 2008—The Literary Death Match TV edition (NYC, Ep. 11) stormed the Housing Works Bookstore on 11/11, as the world’s most combative reading series aimed to announce literature as a viable TV medium. Cameras dotted the balcony and floor and crowds filled in the rest, as Tao Lin (representing Muumuu House) shook Soho and won the LDM crown by out-money-grabbing co-finalist Amy Sohn (Brooklyn Writers Space) in the first-ever “Who Gets the Biggest Book Advance?” finale.
