April 2, 2016 — For our annual spring classic, Literary Death Match once again joined forces with the San Antonio Book Festival for a wild night of lit, wit and weirdness at the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre that ended with a tense Literary Spelling Bee III that saw Jamie Brickhouse outduel David Crabb in sudden death to win Brickhouse the LDM San Antonio, Ep. 3 crown.

Miami, Ep. 7

November 20, 2015 — In our annual Magic City amazement, Literary Death Match returned to the Miami Book Fair International for an author party spectacular that featured a crazy amount of literary talent, on a wild night that finished with Colin Channer upending Sara Benincasa in a winner-take-all Literary Spelling Bee III finale that won Channer the LDM Miami, Ep. 7 crown.

LA, Ep. 37

April 19, 2015 — April's a cruel month? Not on our watch! On a whimsy-filled night, Literary Death Match teamed with the cast of HBO's Silicon Valley and the LA Times Festival of Books for a Festival After Dark event at Largo that won hearts, minds and every other part of everyone's body as Atticus Lish outlasted Porochista Khakpour in a back-and-forth Lone Star Lit finale, winning Lish the LDM LA, Ep. 37 crown.

September 23, 2014 — To bring September to its narrative knees, Literary Death Match teamed with Soho House West Hollywood for a members-only event that ended with Jeremy Radin outdueling co-finalist Carlos Kotkin in LDM's Quiz of Death I by a score of 7-5 to win Radin the LDM LA, Ep. 32 crown.

August 30, 2014 — In what was the greatest hour of literary wizardry of the summer, Literary Death Match headed to the amaze and awe of Bumbershoot for a mid-afternoon spectacular that saw Sara Benincasa outduel co-finalist Rachel Shukert 9-6 in a hotly contested game of Literary Spelling Bee III.

July 22, 2014 — In LDM's annual Westwood delight, we returned to the magnificent Hammer Museum for a mid-summer event that boasted some of LA's finest. After a pitch-perfect night, the show closed with Sean Michaels outdueling Sara Benincasa in the Quiz of Death II to win Michaels the LDM LA, Ep. 30 crown.

August 3, 2013 — On a dreamy mid-summer night, Literary Death Match barnstormed Nerdist at Meltdown Comics for a nerd-skewed night of lit and wit that finished when Cecil Castellucci narrowly toppled co-finalist Brian Finkelstein by a score of 4-2 in a chaotic graphic novel draw-off, winning Castellucci the LDM title.

February 14, 2013 — Literary Death Match kicked off 2013 in LA in grand fashion, with a colossal showcase of love, laughs, lit and wit at Busby's East that concluded with a LDM first-ever: three finalists. The result: Middle Men author Jim Gavin out-valentined Melissa Chadburn and Zarina Zabrisky by a human count of 21-18-11 to win the LDM LA, Ep. 19 championship.

March 6, 2012 — On a historic night in which Literary Death Match returned to its velvet-walled birthplace at The Back Room, endlessly fantastic text warbled through the dim-lit confines until Dean Haspiel (creator of the Eisner Award-winning Billy Dogma) screamed back from a 2-1 deficit to topple Katharine Bakeless Nason Prize-winner Kim Dana Kupperman by a 3-2 score at Literary Pictionary to win the LDM's 6-year anniversary crown.
