Philadelphia, Ep. 3

May 23, 2012 — To celebrate Drexel University's 6th Annual Week of Writing, Literary Death Match teamed with Painted Bride Quarterly to put on a wild show that finished with Team Elizabeth Scanlon falling to Team Scott McClanahan in the most exciting game of Pin the Mustache on Hemingway the world has ever seen. A last-gasp attempt won McClanahan the LDM Philadelphia crown.

DC, Ep. 3

March 7, 2012 — In a 6-Year Anniversary to remember (presented by 826DC), a end-to-end night of fantasticism ended with Amber Sparks dramatically toppling Scott McClanahan in a Literary Spelling Bee by a final score of 19-18, winniner her the Literary Death Match DC, Ep. 3 crown.

Raleigh, Ep. 1

September 15, 2009—Raleigh’s Literary Death Match debut was a night full of “treasured masturbatory fantasies,” unicorns and rock n’ roll as Jodi Lynn Villers captured the crown through a highly imaginative interpretation of the cafeteria scene in Mean Girls ("Would you like me to assign someone to butter your muffin?"). Co-finalist Scott McClanahan also delivered a riveting performance of the gym scene in Clueless ("I doubt I’ve even worked off the calories in a stick of Care Free Gum"), but Villers’ combination of southern charm and naughty hockey fantasies had stolen too many hearts that evening as the audience screamed for the winner.
