July 15 (at Elbo Room)

After too many moons away — we've missed you SF! — Literary Death Match is teaming with Lit Camp as we return to the Elbo Room for a brilliant like-minded evening of literature, laughs, levity and above all a noble distraction from the crash-and-burn administration festering in our White House. Click to see the lineup so far!

What is Literary Death Match? Part literary event, part comedy show, part game show, Literary Death Match brings together four of today’s finest writers to compete in an edge-of-your-seat read-off critiqued by three celebrity judges, and concluded by a slapstick showdown to decide the ultimate champion.

JUDGES:
Literary Merit: D.A. Powell, National Book Critics Circle Award-winning poet of Useless Landscape, or A Guide for Boys
Performance: Zahra Noorbakhsh, comedian, cohost of award-winning podcast: #GoodMuslimBadMuslim, currently touring her hour-long comedy special, On Behalf of All Muslims
Intangibles: Allison Mick, Oakland-based standup comedian
