Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11:28AM April 18, 2013 — As a kick-off to the LA Times Festival of Books, LDM's 20th-ever episode in LA ended in slapstick fashion, as volunteers from the crowd took turns writing Pulitzer Prize-winning author's names with a Sharpie clasped between their toes. The result: Owen Egerton narrowly outdid co-finalist Ophira Eisenberg by a 4-1 score, to win the LDM LA, Ep. 20 crown!
Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 11:48AM March 28, 2013 — In one of the great debuts in the history of debuts, Literary Death Match stormed Ljubljana's Kavarna Union with a showcase of the Slovenia's finest talent, that ended when Jana Kolarič outduelled Katja Gorečan in a Spell-Binding finale by a final score of 22-14 to win the nation's newest literary award, the Literary Death Match championship!
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 9:11PM March 13, 2013 — In an electric night of wit, lit and comedy crit, Literary Death Match — sponsored by Picador — exploded back onto the London scene with a jam-packed show at Concrete that finished with a "Rave Against the Machine" finale that saw Rebecca Wait outduel co-finalist Ian Kelly in a "Make love, not horse burgers"/All the Pretty Horses spinoff by a narrow margin to win the Literary Death Match championship!
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 5:30PM March 12, 2013 — In our first UK show since our game-changing TV pilot shoot, Literary Death Match returned to brilliant Edinburgh (and specifically: Voodoo Rooms) for a lights-out night of never-ending wonderment that saw R A Martens outduel Andrew C. Ferguson in a hotly contested battle of Play Your Literary Cards Right that went to sudden death before Martens was crowned champ.
Friday, March 8, 2013 at 7:37PM March 8, 2013 — In an AWP classic to remember, Literary Death Match's 7-Year Spectacular — presented by Painted Bride Quarterly & Brookline Booksmith — threw caution to the win, and cupcakes, too as the wild finale featured finalists Andre Dubus III and Sarah Shun-lien Bynum in Cupcake Shootout that Dubus won by a "George Saunders soul patch," winning the LDM Boston, Ep. 11 at AWP crown!
Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 8:40PM February 14, 2013 — Literary Death Match kicked off 2013 in LA in grand fashion, with a colossal showcase of love, laughs, lit and wit at Busby's East that concluded with a LDM first-ever: three finalists. The result: Middle Men author Jim Gavin out-valentined Melissa Chadburn and Zarina Zabrisky by a human count of 21-18-11 to win the LDM LA, Ep. 19 championship.
Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 4:32PM January 31, 2013 — LDM kicked off 2013 in brilliant style, as our Kennedy Center debut (presented by Story League) was jam-packed and lightning-swift, an hour of sheer literary and comedic power witnessed by a glorious audience that saw bestselling author Carolyn Parkhurst outduel co-finalist and show-stopper Adele Hampton in a wowing blaze of Literary Card Sharks that won Parkhurst the Literary Death Match crown.
Friday, November 30, 2012 at 9:48PM December 1, 2012 — In our final Euro show of 2012, Literary Death Match delivered an abso-doozy to close out Book Week Scotland, a brilliant affair that saw stars from England Writers Football Team up against stars from Scottish Writers FC that ended with Team Joe Dunthorne outdueling Team Kevin Williamson 2-1 in a Literary Triathlon to give England (well, Wales, really) the final glory as Dunthorne was crowned champ.
