December 1, 2012 — In our final Euro show of 2012, Literary Death Match delivered an abso-doozy to close out Book Week Scotland, a brilliant affair that saw stars from England Writers Football Team up against stars from Scottish Writers FC that ended with Team Joe Dunthorne outdueling Team Kevin Williamson 2-1 in a Literary Triathlon to give England (well, Wales, really) the final glory as Dunthorne was crowned champ.

London, Ep. 31

November 29, 2012 — In its final 2012 London incarnation, Literary Death Match — sponsored by Picador — headed to LBi on Brick Lane, in a wondrous night that saw the amazing poetess Kirsten Irving out-toss co-finalist Adam Biles (author of Grey Cats) in a neck-and-neck Literary Mince Pie Toss by a score of 3-2 to win Irving the LDM London, Ep. 31 crown.

Miami, Ep. 4

November 16, 2012 — The glories of the Miami Book Fair International were on full display as Literary Death Match returned to Bardot for a wily and riotous talent-fest that ended when Meg Haston narrowly outdueled Derek Kirk Kim by only seconds (well, 49.3 of them) in an Author Jumble, winning Haston the LDM Miami, Ep. 4 crown.

Boston, Ep. 10

November 14, 2012 — It was a chilly night outside, but inside Club OBERON's wonderful walls, Literary Death Match Boston turned 10 episodes young, with a brilliant event that saw Team Katherine Hill outduel Team Chris Braiotta in a Literary Pictionary battle by a score of 3-1 to win her the LDM Boston, Ep. 10 crown.

Quinnipiac, Ep. 1

November 13, 2012 — It was all about academic splendor and surprise as Literary Death Match touched down at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut for the first time ever.  This piercing event, sponsored by Montage literary magazine, ended when Benjamin Goodheart just barely beat out Samantha Austin in an Author Spelling Bee, winning Goodheart the title of LDM champion of Quinnipiac.

November 8, 2012 — Before a joyful, tittering crowd, Literary Death Match made its masterful Contemporary Jewish Museum debut, as a stunning lit-comedic night ended with a Jewish Author Jumble that saw Suzanne Kleid outduel co-finalist Zarina Zabrisky by only seconds to win Kleid the LDM SF, Ep. 49 crown.

November 7, 2012 — On a whimsy-filled night before a jam-packed and wildly enthusiastic Busby’s East crowd, the LA lovers of lit witnessed Tracy McMillan outduel co-finalist Antoine Wilson in a Name That Literary Tune finale by a final score of 10-6 to win the LDM LA, Ep. 16 crown.

Austin, Ep. 5

October 27, 2012 — On a winter-cool Saturday afternoon, Literary Death Match returned to the Texas Book Festival (and Austin's gorgeous Paramount Theatre) for a knockout masterpiece that saw the amazing Kambri Crews outduel the beloved Bob Shea in a Literary Spelling Bee by a final score of 13-5, winning her the LDM Austin, Ep. 5 crown.

Helsinki, Ep. 2

October 25, 2012 — On a lit-rich night filled with wonder and oddball surprise, Literary Death Match's return to Korjaamo Culture Factory finished in high-octane fashion as Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize-nominee Eeva Rohas out-swished Karo Hämäläinen 5-3 in a wild Book Burning Basketball finale that won Rohas the LDM Helsinki's second-ever crown.

Philadelphia, Ep. 4

October 17, 2012 — On a cool autumn night in brilliant Philadelphia, Literary Death Match returned to World Cafe Live to celebrate our 250th-ever show with Painted Bride Quarterly. The night ended with Dan Wilbur (author of How Not to Read) outdueling General Idea co-curator Kim Gek Lin Short in an air-tight game of Literary Card Sharks that ended with him being crowned as LDM champ.
