LA, Ep. 15

October 9, 2012 — In a wall-to-wall night of literary fascination and comedic astonishment, the Literary Death Match debut at Largo at the Coronet was a grand spectactle that saw cartoonist Keith Knight out-hoop co-finalist Jennie Ketcham in a wild game of Book Burning Basketball that saw Knight comeback for a knee-tingling 5-3 victory to win him the LDM LA, Ep. 15 crown.

September 30, 2012 — On a lazy, sun-drenched Sunday, Literary Death Match teamed with the West Hollywood Book Festival for a sun-drenched, outdoor blowout that ended with Rachel Resnick outdueling Lisa O'Donnell in a Literary Spelling Bee battle that netted Resnick the LDM LA, Ep. 14 crown!

Tulsa, Ep. 2

September 21, 2012 — On a cricket-filled Oklahoma eve, Literary Death Match once again teamed with Book Smart Tulsa for a return to the 918 for a genius night that saw TulsaPeople Magazine's Jeff Van Hanken outduel This Land Press's Natasha Ball in a hotly-contested Literary Spelling Bee that won Van Hanken the LDM Tulsa crown.

Twin Cities, Ep. 8

The blood-thirsty crowds that packed The Nomad World Pub to celebrate LDM's 8th visit to Minneapolis (plus the launch of Lara Avery's Anything But Ordinary) saw the closest LDM finish in history as poet Heid E. Erdrich outdueled R. Vincent Moniz, Jr. in a Books by Numbers finale, winning by a final score of 2287 to 2286 to win her the LDM Twin Cities crown!

September 18, 2012 — On a rain-slicked night in brilliant Montréal, Literary Death Match returned to Canada for a fantastic spectacle of wit, lit and drink-sipping at Sala Rossa that ended with a Literary Spelling Bee that saw Jonah Campbell outduel co-finalist Taylor Tower by a closer-than-it-seemed margin of 20-6 to win the Literary Death Match Montréal crown.

September 15, 2012 — In a dazzlement of Norwegian riches at the brilliant Oslo Bokfestival, a pitch-perfect night ended with a down-to-the-wire Pin the Mustache on Hemingway finish, in which Team Kristine Tofte (author of the Song for Eirabu series) outdueled Team Marianne Clementine Håheim (author of the poetry collection Murmurs) to win the Literary Death Match Oslo crown by a narrow 3 centimeter margin.

September 14, 2012 — In a Pulitzer Prize-fest, and one of the most exhilirating Literary Death Match events ever seen — plus, the debut of our all-cartoonists format at the Damn! Cartoons festival — it was the underdogs who stole the show, as The K Chronicles mastermind Keith Knight narrowly outdrew Slowpoke Comics creator Jen Sorensen in a sudden death masterpiece of a Draw Off, that won Knight the Literary Death Match DC crown!

September 13, 2012 — On a brilliant night presented by Electric Literature, Literary Death Match made an epic return to Le Poisson Rouge for a Fiction-v.-Nonfiction showdown which ended in a raucous finale that saw Team Jason Diamond narrowly outmatch Team Courtney Maum in a hotly contested Pin the Mustache on Hemingway finish, winning Diamond the Literary Death Match NYC crown.

September 12, 2012 — Before a jam-packed Club OBERON, Literary Death Match returned to Boston — the perfect kickoff spot for our 7-city/10-day LDM TV Pilot tour (help fund us on Kickstarter!) — and the wild and talent-fueled night ended with Baratunde Thurston out-scoring co-finalist Carissa Halston in a Literary Card Sharks finale, as he pulled out a closer-than-it-seemed 8-4 victory to win the LDM Boston crown.
